April 20 to September 15, 2019
For this year’s 33rd Art in Action student exhibition at the Kelowna Art Gallery, young artists were asked to create artworks inspired by their community. Middle- and high-school students throughout the Central Okanagan Region were encouraged to use artistic expression to illustrate their thoughts about what exactly community means to them.
Students may choose to celebrate the diversity of cultures in the Okanagan, to focus on the environment, to explore history in the Okanagan, or perhaps illustrate a future they envision for our community.
The hope for this project is that students will reflect on what they can do to contribute to their own well-being, as well as the well-being of their family, community, and ultimately greater society.
