Frequently Asked Questions
Can I rent one of your spaces during the day?
Unfortunately, the Gallery’s rental spaces share the same areas as some of our exhibitions, as well as our education and studio spaces. So, this means that during our normal hours of operation these areas are generally not available to be closed off for private use.
Do you have many different spaces for rent?
The Gallery basically has one space that suits nearly all of the rental clients we work with. It is The Front project space, which is the large open space to the immediate left once you enter. This, in combination with the Scotiabank Studio, which is primarily used as a support area for catering/equipment, is the option that we recommend.
How many people can your space host?
The Front project space is the largest space we have and nearly all of the rental events happen in this area. Capacity depends on your set-up and floor plan. Below are suggested max. capacities for various events:
- Cocktail Reception: 120
- Theatre (seated): 80
- Classroom (varies): 60
- Banquet (seated): 70
Is there anything I need to know for catering?
The Gallery is a unique space to hold your event in. It does not have any kitchen facilities available, which requires some consideration when selecting a caterer. Further to this, there is absolutely no open flame permitted in the Gallery. This includes sterno burners for chafing trays and also candles.
