Kelowna-based artist Dawn Emerson will be creating a multi-paneled work using mixed media on sheets of mylar, and will be exploring images of trees that incorporate implied movement. Emerson was inspired by the digital work of Los Angeles-based artist Jennifer Steinkamp, which she saw installed at the Phoenix Art Museum when on a recent trip to Arizona. Although Emerson herself works with traditional media, she is intent on giving viewers a sense of certain movement with her installation, which will meander over the forty-foot-long wall in the well-wishing area of the departures end of the Kelowna International Airport.
