Mary Smith McCulloch, Earth, 2020, Etching 1/7

Art Activity: Printmaking

In this tour, students will consider our impact on the environment through the work of artist Mary Smith McCulloch. This solo exhibition explores intaglio printmaking as a communicative medium that documents the human impact on both the Okanagan and European landscapes. It features a selection of work that touches on historical notes of humanity, civilization, land, and architecture. McCulloch’s images are inspired by some of her earlier drawings of trees from Okanagan orchards.

Art Activity: Students will use a simple printmaking method to create nature inspired artwork.
