Rupture / Recuperation is a meditation on the destabilized era which our world is currently facing. Through three large-scale aluminum artworks, Kelowna-based artist Judith K Schwarz navigates the terrain of confusion, imbalance and
reparation. Seamlessly blending old and new works, Schwarz confronts the ruptures in our worldview sparked by continuous, unforeseen change, while also illuminating the potential for fresh beginnings.

Whether directly or indirectly, the pandemic, climate change and political dissention affect us all, impacting our well-being and our hope for the future. Every change or loss requires an adaptation and potentially a new understanding of our fragile world.

Judith K Schwarz is a nationally renowned artist and Professor whose work can be found in public and private collections across Canada. Focused mainly on drawing and sculpture, Schwarz has exhibited widely across Canada. Her solo
exhibitions include the Embassy Gallery in Tokyo and the Freedman Gallery in Reading, Pennsylvania.
