Drawing can be a fundamental aspect to an artistic practice. It is often exploratory, with considerable emphasis on observation, problem-solving or composition. In tandem with our exhibition, Drawing from Life, the Kelowna Art Gallery hopes to further broaden our celebration of drawing by inviting our members to contribute to the conversation on the importance of this medium.
This year’s members’ exhibition encourages artists to expand the concept of drawing through their respective media. Paintings, sculpture, photography, and video works that explore the definition of drawing are encouraged. Traditional approaches to drawing will also be featured.
