Double Vision: Connor Charlesworth and Malcolm McCormick

February 18 to March 26, 2017

These two emerging local painters will both be showing new work. McCormick challenges the accepted usual installation of paintings on the wall by embedding his canvasses into holes in drywall, which is in turn leaned on the wall of the gallery.

Charlesworth will be showing a new oil on canvas painting along with seven new works on paper. While these works are abstract, they relate specifically to the ocean shoreline on Vancouver Island.

Both artists recently received BFA degrees from the University of British Columbia Okanagan in Kelowna. Malcolm McCormick is currently enrolled in the MFA program at Concordia University in Montreal, and Connor Charlesworth in the MFA program at the University of Victoria.
