Bright New World

Art in Action 35
April 17 to June 13, 2021

Bright New World features artworks by young artists from across the Okanagan and marks the 35th anniversary of our annual Art in Action student exhibition. For this year’s presentation, students were encouraged to explore a brighter future and consider the ways in which they can manifest positive change on a local or global scale. This theme reflects the rapidly changing world landscape and offers students the chance to reframe current events through an optimistic lens. Artworks displayed span various mediums including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and digital media.

Bright New World features 139 student artworks from classes led by 23 different art teachers across 9 SD23 public schools. The Kelowna Art Gallery would like to thank Central Okanagan Public Schools for their continued participation, with special consideration to Jim Elwood and Farah Canuel for their assistance.
