Installation in The Glass Gallery
The Glass Gallery is a new exhibition space that the Gallery is piloting this year, It celebrates the work of local emerging artists and will rotate through three featured installations each year. It is situated adjacent to the main entrance of the Gallery on Water Street and can be seen Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
The first featured artist is Pip Dryden, an installation artist and recent graduate (2021) of the Visual Arts (BFA) program at UBC Okanagan Campus. Her work is rooted in personal experiences and memories and highlights domestic scenes that discuss anxieties related to eating disorders, body image, and diet culture.
Pip Dryden speaks with Dominika Lirette, co-host of Daybreak South on CBC Radio Kelowna, outside of her installation. (8:28 minutes) Aired May 17, 2021 >> Listen Now
