Art Activity: Printmaking
Seriously? Comedy and Satire in Canadian Art 1970s–Now gives students the opportunity to examine pieces from a range of artists, mediums, styles, and eras. From ceramics and beadwork to cartoons and performance, students will have the chance to engage with works that explore humour and whimsy.
This exhibition showcases artists who use humour, narrative, and satire to explore culture, identity, and place. The exhibition spans diverse regions and traditions—including Indigenous comic art—and presents humour as both a creative tool and form of resistance.
During the art activity following this tour, students will have the opportunity to print their own abstract, comical work of art.
Organized by Griffin Art Projects and curated by Melissa E. Feldman
