Weekend Workshop: Kinetic Sculptures

Date: June 22, 2024
Time: 11 am to 2 pm
Cost: $65 (Members $52) Supplies included
Age: 15 to adult
Instructor: Victoria Verge

Discover the art of kinetic sculpture in this engaging introductory workshop led by What is Fragile? artist Victoria Verge. Designed for beginners, participants will learn to add movement to their sculptures using simple mechanical techniques without motors or electronics. Over the course of three hours, we’ll delve into the history of automata sculptures, examine various useful mechanisms, and create our own moving sculptures. Each participant will leave with their very own winged creation powered by a turn crank. While the class will all work on the same basic mechanism, the design of the winged creature is limited only by your imagination! All supplies are included.
