Pear Tree House Productions in partnership with the Kelowna Art Gallery present

Bloggin' Okanagan
a mini blog conference
September 26, 2010
1:30-3:30 pm at the Kelowna Art Gallery

For some it's the new journal - for others a new form of journalism.

Blogging is becoming popular across a broad range of demographics and is, for many, a preferred method of expression. It's also connecting strangers around the world including right here in the Okanagan Valley.

As part of Culture Days, September 24-26, the Kelowna Art Gallery is working in partnership with Pear Tree House Productions to host a panel discussion on this hobby-come-business.

Bloggin' Okanagan is a mini blog conference running from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Kelowna Art Gallery. It will feature a panel of experienced bloggers and social media professionals from around the Valley to explore the phenomenon of blogging. There will also be networking ops for local bloggers.

Seeing Red and White
October 2, 2010

The Kelowna Art Gallery’s annual Seeing Red and White fundraiser will be held on Saturday October 2, 2010. This evening of fine art, fine wine, fine dining, will be a night to remember with music performed by local musicians The Darylectones, food prepared by award-winning Joy Road Catering, a champagne reception sponsored by Leona Baxter, President of the Board of Directors of the Kelowna Art Gallery, delicious red & white local wines, and beer from Tree Brewing. There will also be a silent auction that will include artworks by well-known local artists, as well as home décor accessories, hotel packages, and wine packages. Guests will view on site painting by four local artists, with the works they create to be auctioned live at the end of the evening.

Proceeds from this annual fundraiser support innovative exhibitions, education programming and activities.

Tickets are $170 for gallery members, and $185 for non-members, and can be purchased by contacting: Shauna Oddleifson, Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator at 250-762-2226 ext. 305 or via email to shauna@kelownaartgallery.com.
