SATURDAY CLASSES FOR YOUTH

ART HEROES
Instructor: Marion Krahn
Dates: Saturdays, Oct 6 to Nov 3, 2012 (5 weeks)
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, For ages 8 to 11
Young artists will develop their artistic skills while being inspired by art heroes such as Emily Carr, Claude Monet, Marc Chagall, and the Group of Seven. Expressive painting techniques are demonstrated, and an exciting variety of tools and mediums will be introduced. Students are guaranteed to have fun in this creative studio atmosphere.
Cost: Members – $70.00 Non members – $85.00

STUDIO SATURDAYS
Instructor: Marion Krahn
Dates: Saturdays, Nov 10 to Dec 15, 2012
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, For ages 12 to 15
In this class young painters will be introduced to contemporary and traditional painting techniques. Colour, form, composition, and the use of various painting surfaces and mediums will be explored. Students will develop their own creative process in a fun and creative studio environment.
Cost: Members – $80.00 Non members – $95.00

CREATIVE CARTOONS – Level 1
Instructor: Niina Teto
Dates: Saturdays, Sept 29 to Nov 3, 2012
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, For ages 9 to 13

CREATIVE CARTOONS – Level 2
Instructor: Niina Teto
Dates: Saturdays, Nov 10 to Dec 15, 2012
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, For ages 9 to 13
Create original and appealing cartoon characters by developing an understanding of basic cartoon figure proportions, and improving technical drawing skills. During these classes students will learn how to add elements to a character to convey personality, and technically simulate qualities from any inanimate or animate object to create visual appeal in their design. In level 2 students will learn more about drawing characters in three dimensions and in special full-body poses.
Members – $80.00 Non members – $95.00
