A studio art program for adults with developmental disabilities The Kelowna Art Gallery is excited to offer CONNECT this summer for adults with developmental disabilities. CONNECT will provide an enriching opportunity for individuals to view and discuss works of art at the Gallery, meet local artists, and spend time making art in the Gallery’s studio space. All supplies for the course are included.
Mixed-Media Mash-Up
Instructor: Megan Bernard
Dates: Tuesdays, May 28 to July 2
Time: 1:00 – 2:30 pm
Join us for this six-week course that will investigate various art media, using the beauty of spring as inspiration. Students will explore colour, line, and form in two-and three-dimensional projects. We will create a variety of projects, ranging from abstract painting to paper maché sculptures. Let your imagination and creativity run wild in this mixed-media experience!
The Art of Photo Transfers
Instructor: Christina Leinemann-Knittel
Dates: Thursdays, July 4 to August 8
Time: 1:00 – 2:30 pm
In this class we’ll explore how to make one-of-a kind artwork using photographic images. Participants will learn how to make acrylic gel transfers and then incorporate them into a mixed media work of art. This class will be a perfect blend of learning new techniques, and exploring your creativity.
Cost per six-week session: $10.00, all supplies included.
