Niina Teto recently graduated from the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna with a focus on animation and character design. Teto grew up in the Shuswap, in Cambie, just outside Sicamous, on a Finnish family homestead. Home-schooled for most of her childhood, she lived on a farm raising goats, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. The benefit of home-schooling was that she had a lot of time to draw. By the time she reached high school she knew she wanted a career that involved drawing and storytelling.
Teto loves animation and character design, and she is versatile in a variety of mediums. Teto enjoys teaching at the Kelowna Art Gallery, as she has an opportunity to inspire young artists, and to share her love of animation.
