Laura Widmer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Kelowna at UBC’s Okanagan Campus where she was first exposed and subsequently addicted to printmaking. Laura embraces traditional art-making processes in her work and uses them deliberately as a means to reflect on the patterns and shifts of the contemporary world.
Laura has exhibited her work in numerous juried exhibitions nationally and abroad. Awards for her work include first prize at the 2010 Open Studio National Printmaking awards and, more recently, the Muskat Studio Prize at the 2011 Boston Printmakers Biennial.
Laura works from her studio in Kelowna, British Columbia.
