Carney Oudendag

art_instructor_Oudendag_photo Carney Oudendag is a Kelowna based artist who has lived, practiced, exhibited, and taught art in Calgary, Vancouver and Invermere BC. Her formal education includes The Alberta College of Art, U of C and UBC. Carney is a full member of The Alberta Society of Artists. A few of her art related activities include: volunteering for Lake Country ArtWalk, donating art for ‘Art On The Line’(UBCO fundraiser), participating in ‘Appetite For Art’(Kelowna Art Gallery fundraiser), volunteering for Arts & Culture Days.

Carney’s primary source of inspiration for her richly textured mixed media/collage works are her hoards of papers, found objects, ephemera and just about every art product on the market! She has an appreciation for the time worn, tattered and distressed. Carney enjoys working in a semi-representational style and most recently, creating atmospheric surfaces. She finds it very gratifying to enable others to enjoy their own creative experiences because “art is long, life is short.”
