Treats, tours, and activities will be offered this Family Day at the Kelowna Art Gallery
Monday, February 12, 2018
10 am to 4 pm
$5 per participant
Come in out of the cold and explore the fascinating exhibitions on view before getting creative with a hands-on art activity. This Family Day, young artists will explore the printmaking process to create a fantastic mixed media family tree. Using block printing inks, drawing materials, and vibrant papers, participants will discover new art making methods.
New to printmaking? No worries, we have you covered. The Gallery’s helpful staff will be on hand to assist participants with the activity.
Also, be sure to take advantage of our family-friendly exhibition tours that are offered throughout the day.
Two of the shows you can see are GWAII HAANAS – Islands and Sacred Sites, which features a gigantic 18-foot-long painting installation that celebrates the ocean, forest, and marine life that artist Joice M. Hall saw while being guided around Haida Gwaii; and Viral Objects created by UBC Okanagan students, which features 45 interesting sculptures of household objects made out of cardboard.
The cost for all this is just $5 per participant, and includes admission, access to all of the art activities, complimentary treats (as available) and a free family-friendly tour of the exhibitons.
