The Okanagan Tree

July 24 to September 26, 2010

To complement the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Tree exhibition, the Kelowna Art Gallery has organized a small exhibition of works selected from the permanent collection called The Okanagan Tree. Some of these works have not been exhibited in many years. All depict trees in the Okanagan region, many of them fruit trees, growing in orchards, but Ponderosa Pines are also included. Works range from the dystopian musings of contemporary artists Christos Dikeakos and Andrew Hunter to the historical, bucolic watercolours and oils by women such as Vaughan Grayson and Sophie Atkinson.

May is Asian Heritage Month. Help us celebrate how Asian culture has influenced our community. Each weekend in May we will explore a different Asian art form.

This weekend at Family Sundays: Join us on May 20 for Kite-making! Participants will make and decorate kites with teacher, William Chiu. Just $4 per person, incl. Gallery admission.
