World Record Attempt – Landscapes

Local Views to make World News!
The official number is in: 4154 submissions to our Local Views to make World News exhibition! Visit the Gallery and spend some time checking each one of them out. You can also visit our Facebook page for latest news and photo album!
While we are no longer accepting submissions, our Landscape Creation Station is still set up at the Gallery for you to create your very own landscape-inspired work of art.
Starting January 3, 2012, the Kelowna Art Gallery began accepting small-scale, Okanagan-themed, original, landscape-based works of art for a public exhibition in our Scotiabank Studio. The studio walls have now been covered with original works of art, and we have applied to set a brand new world record.
Thank you to everyone who participated. We have drawings of lush vineyards, local beaches, hundreds of Ogopogo sightings, abstract images, and even images inspired by as far away as India. The works will be displayed in our Scotiabank Studio until March 18, 2012.
The Kelowna Art Gallery’s world record attempt was inspired by the exhibition David Alexander: the Shape of Place, on view at the Gallery from January 14 to March 25, 2012. In his work, Lake Country-based artist David Alexander captures a sense of place by representing his experience of the landscape.
