Summer Art Camps for Kids!
Mini Camps
For children ages 6-9
9 a.m. – noon
Painting FUNdamentals |
July 5-9
Using imagination and a range of materials,
participants will experiment with painting and explore a variety of
subjects - and the sky is the limit! Explore concepts of colour,
composition, line and texture in order to create expressive and
imaginative works of art.
Wondrous Woodlands
| August 23-27
Be inspired by our exhibition The Tree: From
the Sublime to the Social, and create a variety of works of art that
inspire an appreciation for the natural environment. Learn about the
important role that trees play in our local environment and create
paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures that use environmentally
friendly materials and techniques.

For children ages 9-12
9 a.m. – noon
Mini Masters |
July 12-16
Try your hand at combining a range of mediums
to create luminous landscapes, poetic portraits and stunning still
lifes. This camp will explore the work of historical and
contemporary art masters, giving participants a chance to experiment
with art-making techniques in the style of great artists throughout
history.
Art and Grind
| July 26-30
Design your own skateboard deck and spend a day
mastering boarding skills! This camp will include designing
graphics, applying them to the decks and a skateboarding lesson at
the end of the week.

Imagination Unleashed |
July 19-23
This camp is guaranteed to be an art experience
like no other. Each day will bring a new opportunity to explore
different art-making techniques, such as painting, printmaking and
sculpture. Your imagination will be your guide you as you explore
and create unique works of art.
Everyday
Explorers | August 3-6
Begin each day with an adventure in
Kelowna’s Cultural District. Be inspired by local landscapes and hot
spots, such as Waterfront Park
and
Kasugai Gardens, and then head back to the gallery to create fabulous art
incorporating elements from your explorations.
Day Camps
For children ages 9-12
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Preschool Camps
For children ages 4-5
9 – 11 a.m.
Tribal Voices
| July 12-16
Imagine dancing, singing and storytelling in
the Australian outback, or along the Northwest coast of
British Columbia. Children will have the opportunity to create decorated rain sticks
and tribal masks. Bring your stories!
Cavemen and Pharaohs |
July 19-23
Get ready to dig into the past! Children will
explore the images and materials used by ancient peoples. This
exciting class will create everything from cave painting to Egyptian
hieroglyphics.
Planes, Trains, and Art-imobiles
| August 9-13
Mega-mechanical action abounds in this
momentous class. Budding engineers build their own trains, design
the ultimate car, and create their own houseboat that really floats!
Bug Buddies
| August 23-27
In a week-long bug safari, preschoolers learn
to sculpt, paint and draw their favourite insects. Little ones will
create giant, paper-maché bug sculptures, make mini bug stamps and
draw textured insects.
