Jane Everett
Under the Bridge
November 30, 2009 to
May 17, 2010
Kelowna artist
Jane Everett has created an enormous, representational drawing using
conté on linen of the new WR Bennett Bridge, when it was under
construction. Viewed from the water level, remnants of the old bridge, and
pieces of the building equipment are also depicted. Residents of Kelowna,
as well as visitors, will immediately recognize the structure of the new
bridge, and then can take delight in the artist’s expressive and
impressive handling of her medium.
Jane Everett
has a BFA from Queen’s University. She has been included in exhibitions
at public and private galleries across Canada. Her work was the subject of
a solo show at the Kelowna Museum in 2007, entitled Equus Caballus.
She is being given a solo show at the Vernon Public Art Gallery, opening
in October 2009. The artist has lived in Kelowna since 1991.
